Do I skate weird?

I was woundering if I skated kinda weird.

I skate goofy which mean right foot in front and left at the back.

When I go to move my board I have my right foot on the ground on my right side and my left foot on the board around the middle to lower by the bolts. Once I get speed I put my right foot in front and my left down back.

I'm asking because I heard some guy say that people who ride goofy use there right leg on the board and left to move on the ground.

See if you can brake the habit is all I can say. I "skated" Goofy and Mongo too, and now I'm not goofy any more but still skating mongo. It's annoying to say the least. Wasn't there another post about this somewhere?

Oh well. I can still do tricks while doing mongo so it doesnt matter to break the habit.

Supposedly Mongo IS NOT good because it takes longer to set up for stuff. Like if you skate regular, you just pick your foot up and set it on the tail, but skating mongo, you have to put your foot on the front and then move your back foot onto the tail, because its not there already (because you cant have your foot there while pushing off, otherwise you'd land on your A$$). So say you wanted to ollie- someone skating regular, after picking up your foot, popping the tail can be almost instant, but mongo, youve got to place your front foot and then pop the tail. Get it?

As for better balance, that might actually be true for some people. I skate mongo, so I know that when I try to skate regular, it just feels like the board is not right under me, like its about to fly out from under me.

So I guess it doesnt REALLY matter, but there are definately differences that it makes. It just depends on whats more comfortable to you.

Thats very wrong. When I skate my back foots at the back then I just move my front foot to my noise area. It takes me 1 second to setup for ollies. If what your saying is true then I wouldn't be able to skate mongo and then 4 sec. after ollie over object and do kickflips.

It all matters on if your good at moveing your feet fast for setups and can keep your balance.

Ummm I thought mongo was putting your back foot on the back first then using your right foot to move on the ground.

It is... you missed my point. Nevermind... its one of those things that you cant really explain, because it sounds like you mean something different.

And anyway I SKATE MONGO too... I'm not bashing it. I was just pointing out the difference. Its not like I'm saying its the wrong way to do it... that would be like telling someone that writing left handed is wrong. And I'm left handed too... I'm all about doing stuff different which is not wrong. TAKE IT EASY NO ONE IS ATTACKING YOU!
