the L.A.F. frame is realy nice. very light for its size and s&m did a good job with lowering the chainstays for better chain clearance especialy for those weight crazy people who put 25/9 ratios on their bike. however the frame is built for taller people.

hey what do u guys think about the STANDARD 250-L OX FRAME as compared to the S&M LAF frame??? the STANDARD 250-L OX FRAME is ligher...but which one is better?

the standard 250-l ox is by far a musch superior frame. better quality steel, better welds, and lighter. the l.a.f. is a good frame with a new design idea, but the 250-l far surpasses it.

so the higher price for the standard is worth it? which one would you get? and since you said the LAF is a new design idea, would you consider it to be like a "first draft" meaning that they will probably come out with a better frame? maybe even lighter?

i dont think its worth the money to pay more just for a lighter weight if you go to the gym or work out alittle bit the heavier frame will feel just like the lighter one
plus you will be in better shape and get the ladys

s&m already came out with a different model of the l.a.f last month. i used to own the first model of the 250 ox and i realy liked it, but the l.a.f is just a new design for the chainstay and seat stay. it mainly depeneds on your riding style and your height to choose which frame.

if im 5 6 what frame would you recommend?

09 Nov 2005 06:53

the standard. the l.a.f. is designed for taller riders.

how tall a rider?

the l.a.f offers 20.5, 20.625, 20.875, 21, 21.125 inch toptubes. riders usualy ride 20" until they are over about 5'8", but yet it all depends on riding style.

so if im 5 6 or 7, the LAF frame isnt for me?

it could be but it may not be. try riding someones bike with 20" toptube and a 20.5" and see what feels better for you.

i ride a haro nyquist pro and it has a 20.5" toptube...will the S&M feel different?

09 Nov 2005 07:22

all frames feel different but since you ride a 20.5" toptube bike the s$m could be good for you.
